looping the new record

Hallo,

is it possible to loop through the elements from the new record in an before update Trigger?
The only way I know to access the new record is using the point notation, like new.ID...

I think there's no such notation in SQL Standard.

Anyway, maybe you could use some execute statment in conjunction with systems tables. But I am helpless in this use, cause i do use it very much.
Also, it should be slower and a hard to understand code...
